To illustrate the overview of activities for reconstruction and rehabilitation after Nepal Earthquake by Government of Nepal with support from Japan and discuss on expediting the reconstruction, National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) organized " Build Back Better and Resilience Workshop on 1 Year Memorial of Nepal Earthquake" in Kathmandu on 25th April 2016.
In the workshop JICA presented its activities and future prospects of its assistance. At the programme, Chief Executive Office of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) Sushil Gyewali expressed his high commendation for the support provided by Japan in the post-earthquake reconstruction and added the comprehensive survey for reconstruction in affected districts. He added that, NRA is working together with the development partners to develop a long-term framework and will come up with five year strategic planning for completion of reconstruction work.
H.E. Masashi Ogawa, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal ensures Japan's continuous assistance in various sectors like education and others needed. JICA Vice President Hiroshi Kato emphasized to build resilient society on build back better concept to minimize the hazards in the future. In the programme, Mr. Kato handed over hazard maps of Sindhupalchowk and Gorkha districts to Mr. Gyewali as an output of JICA's efforts to minimize hazards in those districts.
